U13/1 Match Report - 27 May 2018

Playing at the lovely Harold West, the Roselea girls were set on avenging the 2-1 loss from the first round. With our full team ready to go it was set to be a close game.

The first half flew by with few chances for either team. A lot of long high clearances from our opponents and no time for the midfielders to bring the ball to ground and control. West Ryde had pace and strength at the back to deal with all but the best attacking manoeuvres.

Nil all at half time - Aadya was strong in goals and our backs of Ellen, Roni, Alannah, Bianca and Grace were holding strong.

Second half and the Roselea girls new what to expect, and our midfield data bit deeper to pick up the long clearances. With possession the girls clicked into gear. Bella, Alannah, Caitlin and Zoe were pressuring the defenders and linking with the midfielders of Lara, Dominique and Fiona. Plenty of chances were created with Alannah from right wing side footing a left wing cross from Fiona.

All the girls were at their best in the second half and rightfully climb to second on the table.

Great team, supportive parents and good spirit- football is fun.

We play the top team this week in another test of our improvement and belief.
