The local derby with Beecroft was dominated by Roselea for the majority of the game, with countless opportunities presenting themselves in the first half and early stages of the second.
There was no lack of enthusiasm in the first half, as a possible win dawned on them. Their eagerness, and work rate was not matched with their finishing touches, as a number of goals went begging in the first half. The boys became frustrated and despondent from missed opportunities, and this was further exasperated when Beecroft scored against the run of play with 10 minutes to go. Another goal to Beecroft soon after sealed their gutsy win, however I am sure we can pull even it up in our next derby.
Despite the loss, it was good to see Blake step up in the forwards and in defence, with his confidence growing each game. But the biggest revelation of the game was seeing Benji pull out some awesome corner kicks, and backing it up in front of goal as he searched for an opportunity to use that big boot of his.
The boys earn a well deserved break next week, and we can start afresh after the long weekend.
