U10/4 Match Report - 16 June 2018

Updated: Jun 28, 2018

After a week off, the boys were hungry and full or beans. The enthusiasm saw the boys dominate the early stages of the game, playing most of the half in Hunters Hill's end.

It was pleasing to see players looking for support, passing to one another, putting others into gaps. Some good plays from Alex C, faking and running the ball out of the back, Alex L came up with some good saves, choosing the right time to come out and meet the ball at the edge of the square. Irvin was persistent, chasing the ball and it paid off with goal in the first half.

Hunters Hill lifted their game in the second half, pressing forward at every opportunity with some good clearance kicks. Roselea had further chances through Benji's excellent corner kicks, however some good opportunities went begging. As the half wore on, the boys tired, and we eventually conceded.

The resultant 1-1 draw was deserved for both teams, both sides leaving the game happy. The team confidence continues to grow, and it is great to see them develop their learned skills. Some areas to work on are limiting their touches and time on the ball, quick shooting and correct throw ins.
