Introducing Cortnee Vine – Future Matilda

We are delighted to introduce to you Future Matilda Cortnee Vine.

Cortnee has signed on as our first Roselea Football Ambassador this week.

Cortnee will be visiting all our Roselea team's through out the season at training sessions and games.  She will be able to show all our girls and ladies some football skills and provide unique tips and tricks that she has learned on her way to playing in the elite levels of our sport in Australia.

Cortnee will also be running skills clinics and visiting other club events, so stay tuned for details coming soon.

Join us for a special event to get to know Cortnee a little better.  Find out what it is like to play for Australia? How hard to you have to train for the W League. What does an elite athlete eat.  What boots does Cortnee wear?

You can ask all these questions and more.

A brief bio:

Position – Striker

International Career:

  • Cortnee has represented Ausr-17 and under-20 national teams.

  • In July 2016, she scored the equaliser goal against Myanmar at the 2016 AFF Women's Championship that resulted in a 1–1 draw and Australia finishing in first place in their group at the tournament.

  • Cortnee plays in Jersey No. 9.

W-league Career:

Brisbane Roar, 2015–2017

  • Cortnee made her debut for Brisbane Roar on 25 October 2015 at age 16 in a match against Western Sydney Wanderers

  • She made seven appearances for the team during the 2015–16 W-League season.

  • Brisbane finished in fourth place during the regular season securing a berth to the playoffs.

  • During the semifinal match against regular season champions Melbourne City, the Roar was defeated 5–4 in a penalty kick shootout after 120 minutes of regular and overtime produced no goals for either side.

Future Matilda's Program

  • Cortnee has been selected to be part of the Future Matilda's program launched by FFA this month.

  • The program looks to develop up and coming players to be ready for the next step, that Australian National team 'The Matilda's'.
